Changing of the Guard
I hope I speak for the entire club in thanking Judy for her efforts in Her tenure as club President. For those unaware Judy stood down recently for personal reasons. Judy’s passion for the club and the comradeship it should endure are second to none , again thankyou Judy for your sterling efforts. We look forward to you still being present at future events and meetings where your valued input will be appreciated.
I have therefore accepted the position of “interim club President” and Rob Baumann as Vice President as from the last committee meeting on the 1st October as per section 12 – E of the club Constitution.
Thanks to Rob for offering to take on that role and between us we should be able to drive the team to making some differences.
Keeping in mind that it is the members that make the club and as such we need unity to secure enjoyable events and a club that others are envious of.
Our Committee consists of members that are dedicated to their nominated positions and although generally holding down regular jobs manage to go that extra mile to carry out the scope that the club members voted them into. Events are put together with only the best intentions and not all members can make it to all events nor will they all agree to their content. There is no requirement that members other than some committee positions attend all events. Some events will not be as planned out as others but again the time aspect doesn’t allow for every event to be planned out to the enth degree.
This is a club when all is said and done and all of us including the committee need to be “having fun” as is our clubs “primary purpose”.
So from here I will put in every effort to better the club, along with the assistance of the club members and the committee .

Interim President

Hello again to all Members and Guests,
I thought that I would give you a brief overview of events and activities that have been going on with our Club in the last few months since I was elected President.
The Events Committee have been working extremely hard on making these events, not only affordable, but enjoyable as well. We all appreciate that the cost of running our cars is not cheap, so our Club has been subsidising some events, to make it possible for the members to attend as many events as they can.
Some of our recent events include: Easter Monday Cruise, Observation Cruise, All Ford Day Picnic, KPM Dyno Day, Shannon’s Nationals at Mallala, FPV Release Weekend in Melbourne, Chocolate Cruise, Goolwa Market & Whale Watch Cruise and Christmas in July at the Dublin Hotel. All events have been well attended and we have had very positive feedback.
So, as you can see, there has been plenty going on and the Committee is presently working on some more exciting activities for the coming months. Stay tuned to the website for details! Our website is being upgraded continually, with up to date pictures of events and their stories coming soon.
Our Club cruises are aimed at catering for a wide range of activities. Please visit the Events page to see what our Club is planning and, if you would like to, become involved in helping to organise a cruise with the help and guidance of the Events Committee. All suggestions welcome!
Our Committee is working hard and they are a good team. We are very committed to making sure that your experience with our Club is all about having fun and staying safe in the process. We encourage and welcome family involvement.
Our membership is very strong, with many new members joining in recent months. We look forward to having more like minded people joining our Club, to experience the pleasure of driving our cars, meeting and talking to other owners of FPV’s & XR’s.
Finally, I take this opportunity to thank our Major Sponsors Maughan Thiem, The Lakes Resort Hotel & KPM Motor Sport. Thank you also to the ongoing support of our other sponsors, Itchytoe Printing Group & Auto Barn, Gilles Plains.
Please feel free at any event or meeting, to come over and make yourself known to our Committee members to have a chat!
Cheers for now,
Judy Deering

Check the Events page for details of our next two club events - KPM Ford Dyno Day on Saturday May 10 and Shannons Nationals Motor Racing Championships at Mallala on
Sunday May 18.
Both events have proved popular in previous years, so don't miss out on
the opportunity to have some fun and socialise with your fellow club
members and support our sponsors at the same time.

Hi to Members and Guests,
As of the 12th March 2008, we have a new Committee. As the new President, I now introduce myself.
My name is Judy Deering. I have been passionate about Motor Vehicles for a very long time, having raced Formula Vee’s, driven buses for a living and driven many different vehicles in the Australian Defence Force (Army).
I now drive a 2005 BA GT Vixen Red in colour, that I would have in my lounge room, if I could!!!
Our new Committee is committed to making sure that your experience with our Club is all about having fun and staying safe in the process. We encourage and welcome family involvement.
Club cruises are aimed at catering for a wide range of activities. Please visit our Events page on this website, to see what our Events Committee is planning and become involved.
We look forward to having more people join our Club to experience the pleasure of meeting and talking to other owners of FPV’s & XR’s.
Stay safe,
Judy Deering

Events News
Well, it’s shaping up to be a good year for club events. We have a great Events Team who are willing and motivated to provide club members with professional, well organised events.
I’d like to introduce the current Events Team:
- Brett Watkins, a founding member of the club, famous for his Mystery Cruises and Quiz Nights.
- Ashley Robinson, another founding member who is busy planning some exciting events.
- Zane & Mia Gill, although fairly new to the club, they bring with them a wealth of experience having been heavily involved with both the GM & Corvette clubs.
We will be putting on some old trusty favourites, like Brett’s World Famous Mystery Cruise, a Quiz Night and Christmas in July, plus we also have a few new ideas which you will be hearing about in the very near future.
To help make them successful, we need the support of club members, not just by attending events, but by becoming involved and having some input. After all, it is your club! If you or your kids have an idea for an event, or would like to host an event, please contact any member of the Events Team and let’s work together to make it happen.
The Events Team is looking forward to seeing you at an event soon.
Regards, Bosco
Events Coordinator
